What is Pulsar Net App SoD
Pulsar Technologies is a company that leads in the development of tools that allow the pay per use of technology. Among the different programs and tools that Pulsar has developed, one of the most important is pay per storage use, or Pay per Gigabyte.
Since the year 2001, Pulsar has worked side by side ona worldwide basis with the storage leader NetApp in the development of a pay per use program of their sophisticated storage technology. As a result, and after a long period of analyzing all customer and market aspects and the market opportunity, during 2003 NetApp launched both in the United States and in Europe their SoD (“Storage on Demand”) program, a pure pay per actual storage usage program.
Pulsar has developed and facilitates the real usage metereing on the NetApp systems, as well as the business application that manages on a world wide basis the SoD program, controlling details such as daily variations on customers´ storage usage, cost allocations per cost centers, different types of storage data, virtual storage, capacity threshold alarms, etc. all the way to invoicing with all its details, graphical displays, and virtual storage usage.
The SoD program has reached notorious succes on a world wide level, as it is used by customers from all five continents, and the program manages a real storage capacity in excess of 15.000 terabytes (you can see the latest capacity usage indicador on our main page)
